Agenda items for the day included Somaliland Universities Lecturers Survey Form, Course Description and Curriculum Plan and Training on Examination Setting and administration. The plan is to review the catalogue so that there is an updated version. Further more the national commission for higher education
The main objective of the special session was training for deans of various academic units as Training of Trainers (ToT) so that those deans as managers of examinations in their various academic units would be able to pass down the same knowledge and skills as they have acquired to their respective staff members.
In the training the Examinations concepts were sub divided into three aspects including:-
- Setting of examinations
- Administration of examinations
- Marking and use of results
However, the focus for the day was setting of the examinations. It was further agreed that the deans could proceed and organize sessions for training of their staff members and even invite members of the academic affairs office to help facilitate training in case there was any need.
The Vice President Academic Affairs noted that one of the key functions of universities is teaching therefore training workshops would from next semester be organized to last a whole semester for capacity building in areas including teaching methodology and various other aspects of teaching, with certifications awarded at the end of such training workshops to build CVs for staff and streamline staff to the university policies implementation.

- Application (lower order)
- Analysis (higher order)
- Synthesis (higher order)
- Evaluation (higher order)
